Denise Hoyle (b.1935) Pansies, 1994, Watercolour

Denise Hoyle was born in Paris and moved to England in 1954. She was working as a nanny when she met Walter Hoyle at one of the Great Bardfield open house exhibitions. A year later she married him. They lived in Great Bardfield, Essex with fellow artists; Edward Bawden, John Aldridge, Sheila Robinson.. etc. Denise designed posters for the Post Office Savings Bank and some of her works are in the collection of the Fry Art Gallery in Saffron Walden.
